Quite Stupid

Sure, I've walked on a balcony overlooking a pool and thought to myself, I could totally make it into that pool from here, but that thought is enough for me.

Not this guy...

I wonder if he realized he came about 3 feet away from being dead.

Are You Ready for the Playoffs?

Even the casual fan had to appreciate the absolute madness that was the last day of regular season baseball. Relive the important moments of the evening through this video...

(Warning: If you're a Braves or Red Sox fan, you may want to skip this one.)

The playoffs begin tonight...we can only hope they match the excitement of Wednesday night.

We Made an Award-Winning Film

As you may or may not know, the Popcorn Trick is part of a larger cabal, called The Nectar of the Gods. At TNotG, we go about making somewhat humorous videos, for either contests or viral marketing. 2 weeks ago, we participated in the Wilmington, DE Fringe Festival's 48 hour Film Challenge. We had to conceptualize, write, direct, and produce a 5 minute film using:

a prop (a large plastic egg)
2 lines of dialog ("What fresh hell is this?"; "A smell of petroleum prevails throughout."
a Delaware location (some park in Delaware)

So, using those criteria we came up with Catch and Release, a humorous mockumentary on the obsessions of Hollywood memorabilia collectors. Or something. And last night at the screening we found out we took home the grand prize. So please, enjoy our movie and tell your high falutin' Hollywood friends that we can make any of that crap you see on TV for half the price!

Top Gun Outtakes

In case you missed Saturday Night Live premiere the other night, here's what may have been the funniest sketch. Reminiscent of the Back to the Future outtakes (or a facsimile), here's a look at the "auditions" for Top Gun...

Baldwin hits his Pacino stride during the Afghanistan rant; but the Tom Hanks is terrible. Really, he was doing a Kevin Meany, and while that might have been a little too obscure for the audience, it would have worked better.

Himalaya Time Lapse

One thing I would like to do before I die is travel to Nepal and Tibet. Unfortunately, this is probably the closest I will come...

Breakdancing Failure

Moms...they can ruin your dreams and be moderately racist at the same time...

Awesome commercial

The internet has made it nearly impossible to figure out what is real and what is parody. Case in point: the following commercial...

I like to think it's real, or that at least someone involved is using it for genuine purposes. Regardless, I want to hang out with Chuck Testa. For the deadpan delivery alone.

Best PSA Ever

Don't worry, however slow/boring you think this is in the beginning, the payoff is definitely worth it.

More time lapse/tilt shift awesomeness!

I think it would really be nice if all of you took up a collection and sent me to this town. I promise to increase the number of blog entries!

Jonny Quest Opening Credits Reimagined

You should know my love for Jonny Quest based on this post. If you don't, you should obviously sign up to follow the Popcorn Trick, or at least follow us on Twitter.

Regardless, if you don't think I'm going to link to a guy who updated the Jonny Quest opening credits with new animation, well, you're just being silly...

Mountain Biking Excitement

I don't know the first thing about competitive mountain biking, but I assume this guy is pretty good, based on the announcers' reaction of his run...

I might hire these guys to walk around and announce my daily activities.

Mgnum P.I. - Alcoholic

Who knew Thomas Magnum was such an alcoholic?

I'll admit, when I read the description for this, I didn't really know what to expect. Now? I'm not sure I'll find anything this week better than this video. And yes, I would definitely watch this show.

Now This Is How It's Done

A few days ago, I posted a video of two kids trying out a waterslide sans water. They were stupid.

These guys - they know how to do it right.

It all starts with the soundtrack.

"It may be a good song, but you can't tell..."

Oh Craig Finn, how I love thee - but you're wrong twice here. Huey Lewis' Power of Love is definitely good song, and yeesh - not the greatest cover of all time...

Let's cleanse our palette here...
