The Crashing of Waves Against the Bodies of Surfers...

The place: Tahiti. More precisely, in a town called Teahupo'o - where surfers annually gather for an event at one of the most formidable surfing spots in the world. Not because of the height of the waves apparently, but because of the water volume. So what better place to take a high speed camera and capture surfers being spit out of the waves like a baseball player spits out sunflower seed husks...

Of course if that isn't crazy enough, apparently within the last few days, during the surfing competition, a storm or "swell" hit this area and created some of the biggest waves ever seen...so much so that the competition had to be put on hold.

A surfing competition had to be put on hold because the waves were too big.

Luckily (for us, I guess), many of the surfers channeled their inner Bodhi, and still went out - with interesting results...

Allegedly, no one died. I'm not sure who's crazier - the surfers or the cameramen in those boats.
