Cool Shit 1/20

If you're a deadhead, you'll probably want to check this out.

Love the concept and execution of the Dakar Rally - race across three countries in South America. Pretty sure I could at least finish in the top ten were I to compete.

Do you want this Boba Fett rumor to be true, or do you think a bratty New Zealand clone kid growing up to be the universe's best bounty hunter is a good back story?

Cool visualization of how music genres increase and decrease in popularity through the years. Of course, it also depends on how you're tagging certain music into specific genres.

More cool stuff about season 2 of Hannibal, and the direction it will be taking. Seriously watch this show!

So this happened - a rock from apparently out of nowhere suddenly appeared near the Mars Rover.

Taxi drivers have all the fun. If you consider driving people around and listening to their problems fun.

Cool Shit 5/7

Just your average, run-of-the-mill story about an illegal restaurant on a college campus run by two guys who have no experience. I'll be honest - the fact that the term "speakeasy" was used, is 90% of the reason I linked to it.

Wylie Dufresne would probably be in the Mt. Rushmore of molecular gastronomic cooking. His WD-50 is a NY hotspot, and he has just opened up a gastro pub named Alder. Here's a photo diary (taken by him) of the days leading up to the opening, and some of the food offerings.

If you're a Boba Fett fan, I believe you'll enjoy this art project of Boba Fett in different Icelandic landscapes.

Check out what food your state is most famous for! (Honestly, some of these are spectacularly lame. California...Texas...I'm pretty sure people were grasping for straws on some of these.

Written over 18 years ago, no one realized until then that Steve Carlton was a little more than odd, and quite possibly the inspiration for Alex Jones.

Time Lapse Time! This is the Cerro Paranal - a European Observatory in Chile. Mindbending!

Behind the Scenes of The Empire Strikes Back

Just a few photos from the coffee table book that is coming out. For hardcore Star Wars fans obviously. For more fun and interesting stuff from the set, read this interview and then this one with the original Boba Fett. Many consider this second installment of the original trilogy the best of the bunch, but to them I say, how can that be without any Hayden Christensen action?
