Cool Shit 1/30

The Kanye West/Paul McCartney collaboration now has a video, obviously directed by Spike Jonze.

Enjoy these "fun" possible future scenarios of our society!

Some Friday morning Giger is probably the best way to snap you back into the cold harsh reality of this existence you call life.

Sundance film shot on iphones!

I want to see the Back to the Future sequel that has Marty McFly kill himself - the Mary McFly that was created in the alternate timeline. I mean, I guess that was the basic premise of the movie The One with Jet Li, but I feel Michael J. Fox looking to kill his double to keep the new timeline as pure and paradox-free as possible would make for a far more interesting movie. Also, I think I could write another 30,000 words on this topic.

I imagine body hacking is going to get a lot more popular in the near future, resulting in lord knows how many deaths, because I think it's fair to say, that collectively as a species, humans are stupid.

The scary part of this list of the top 10 most played songs on Pandora isn't that it's comprised of bands that cool people think suck (seriously no one's opinion holds much weight over another's); it's that data like this is being collected and will most likely influence what makes it to the airwaves for us to listen to.

For your next party, put some of these candles out, and imply to your guests that you might be a serial killer.

Cool Shit 6/24

Secret base on Mars? Damn you US government for keeping this from me!

Of course maybe had we listened to this guy, the Mars base reveal wouldn't be such a shock:

If life started all over again, from the tiniest moment, would we evolve the same way? Apparently, scientists are trying to find out.

This handy map shows the places in the world that stood in for fictional places from the movies.

Who wouldn't want to know where lightning was striking at this very moment?

A look at the most expensive things you can buy on Amazon.

So, what did Paul McCartney do after the Beatles broke up? Um, went a little crazy.

Cool Shit 12/6

So Paul McCartney is currently touring, and his opening act (or warmup act, whatever you want to call him) is Chris Holmes, who has put together a mashup of all things Beatles/Wings/McCartney related. And now you can listen to it without going to the concert.

So Congress just held a meeting about aliens, and what we should be doing to find out if they exist. But don't worry it's not as exciting as it sounds. Neither Will Smith nor Harry Connick Jr. were involved. For highlights, check here.

There's a debate whether the drug krokodil has shown up on American soil, and whether we should be worries if it has or will. But that's not the point of this article and video. This is a look at the drug in its homeland, Russia and the effects of it. Be prepared, it gets pretty graphic.

Well, this is some beautiful scenery out in the Moab desert, a cool place to go backpacking, maybe even some rock climbing, and wait - what, "magic backpack, what's going on, and HOLY FUCK!"

Check out pictures of a Russian ghost town 1300 km from the North Pole. Am I crazy for kinda wanting to visit?

If you like Tumblrs, you'll enjoy this list of the top 45 from 2013. Some will make you crack a smile, some will make you question the internet, and some, well I don't even know what they will do.

Cool Shit 11/4

So basically if you run a marathon, you should expect to end it with showing the same symptoms people have seen in corpses. Sign me up!

So yes, I took a humorous look at some of the suggestive costumes ladies could wear at Halloween, attempting to show how ridiculous the our society was becoming. And yet now here's GQ with an article in defense of the sexy Halloween costume, because if the author hadn't worn it, she probably wouldn't have met her husband, which is absurd just on so many levels...

In case you didn't know, Walmart parking lots are a haven for people on the road that need a place to stop and crash to rejuvenate. RVs, cars, vans full of people going to and from. And this policy apparently has led to the nomadic lifestyle for some people who sorta, kinda live in these parking lots. When you look around the corner sometimes, instead of simply straight ahead, you will find things that are just left of center. The nomads of Walmart parking lots is an example.

The cult of juicing. Which goes beyond simply trying to be healthy, and into a whole other stratosphere of changing your mind and body mechanics. At least so say the juicers.

The ways these two have been gushing over each other recently, I assume it's only a matter of time before Yoko Ono and Paul McCartney have sex.

I like that the list of 54 things you should know how to do is so varied. Because you never know when you're going to have to start a fire with matches OR cook an egg properly.
