Here's a look at the top 101 food trucks in America.
Sure the NSA is spying on us all and knows exactly what you were downloading last night (sicko). But you can't blame Hollywood for not trying to warn us for the last 20 years.
So Insane Clown Posse is putting together a television show, which I guess is just a reworking of an existing web series they already do. Here's an example, should you be desperate. And I mean really desperate.
The concept of daredevils is an intriguing one. On one hand, I understand challenging yourself and seeking riskier and riskier feats as a way to make yourself feel alive. On the other hand, I don't understand the publicity behind some of these things. So a guy is going to attempt to walk across a tightrope over the Grand Canyon. That's great for him on a personal level; I wish him success in his endeavor. However, I have no desire to watch it as a man walking foot over foot for 20 minutes or so isn't what I would classify as exciting. No, I assume the one of the major reasons people will tune in to watch it will be to see if he fails and plunges to his death. Please convince me I'm wrong.
Here's a just-released teaser for Clear History, Larry David's latest project for HBO.
This is not a special effects reel from Independence Day II - this is a a formation of a supercell thunderstorm captured on film (or digital video I guess; is there a noun form of "digital film" I should know about? "Video" sounds too VHS-y to me.)
Regardless of my linguistic musings, it's worth the watch...

Cool Shit 5/2
The power behind conspiracy theories and why we choose to believe in them.
Awesome water slides!
Well, I guess this gives us some hope as a species when the next mass extinction comes.
Here's a list of the 50 best restaurants in the world, as suggested by Restaurant Magazine. Looking it over it seems I've been to...0 of them.
Get ready for the Kentucky Derby by reading Hunter S. Thompson's famous take on the race.
It's amazing Hollywood makes any money at all. And after reading about these 6 examples of movies that didn't start out as they were intended, it seems the only way it does is by accident.

Cool Shit 1/17
Oh nothing much, just a German love song dedicated to ALF.
Make a youtube short video, get to Hollywood.
New Walking Dead trailer for the rest of Season 3:
My theory: Meryl and Darryl will escape their death fight, go back to the prison, get taken in by Rick and crew, where Meryl will then turncoat and it will be revealed that was the Governor's plan the whole time.

This exists...
Below is the trailer for Columbiana - a movie about...I guess a woman assassin going after the people (I'm guessing Columbians) who possibly killed her parents. In front of her. When she was nine.
I enjoy the fact the movie is selling itself as something "from the makers of Taken," which was absurdly ridiculous in its own right. But I think Taken "worked" (and I realize worked might be a strong word here, but it obviously had enough success to be completely remade with Liam Neeson barely a couple years later where everyone forgets who he is and he stumbles around asking people if they remember him before kicking ass) because we never expected an actor like Liam Neeson to go all rogue James Bond on us.
Columbiana (I so wish it were a sequel to Syriana) of course doesn't seem to have that acting pedigree to fall back on. Sure, it has the guy who played Pablo Escobar in Blow (methinks he might be getting slightly typecast as villainous Columbians) and the dude from Alias, playing the dude from Alias. And of course there's Zoe Saldana, who recently played a cartoon, looking good in a catsuit.
You know what? Hollywood is weird!

The Case of the Missing Hollywood Actors.
A list of actors who have seemingly dropped of the face of the Earth. Don't read it to find out where they are/what happened to them - because aside from a one or two, the article doesn't plum to those depths) read it just to see if your guesses of who was on the list were correct.

LSD and Hollywood
Looks like it's drug day here at The Popcorn Trick... Vanity Fair has a cool article about LSD and how it helped out stars of the fifties, including Cary Grant, and Esther Williams. In fact, Williams apparently had an amazing trip that she remembers to this day...
But the evening wasn’t over for Esther. After she had said good night to her parents, she went to her bedroom, undressed, and washed. When she looked in the mirror, “I was startled by a split image: One half of my face, the right half, was me; the other half was the face of a sixteen-year-old boy. The left side of my upper body was flat and muscular.… I reached up with my boy’s large, clumsy hand to touch my right breast and felt my penis stirring. It was a hermaphroditic phantasm.” Esther has no recollection of how long she stood there, but there was no question that now “I understood perfectly: when Stanton had died, I had taken him into my life so completely that he became a part of me.”
LSD certainly is nothing if not controversial. Of course, I'm not sure it's this bad...
